Poster Contest on the future of technologies in education at IIT Madras – Shaastra 2008

Move over Robots and Aero plane Models - Here comes the design of Education. In a
unique and first ever kind of student poster contest, GREedge.com, India’s first
online academy for GRE aspirants announces "EDGEucation Next". EDGEucation Next will
be launched at Shaastra 2008, the annual student organized technology festival of
IIT-Madras. Participants from all over India will be able to challenge each other in
envisioning and designing educational technologies for the future.

Participants can submit their entries at the IIT Madras campus during the 5-day
festival or email them to contests@GREedge.com before 11:59pm, Oct 4 2008.



The Grand Engineering Challenge Connection


"Personalized Learning, considered one of the Grand Challenges of Engineering for
the 21st century, is a hot new technology area which will revolutionize the way
education is delivered to people everywhere. It is rapidly becoming a new field of
Engineering. (www.engineeringchallenges.org). To spread the excitement and
challenge of this field, which is the core technology area for our firm, we thought
of this contest" says Yogish Lavanis, a technologist who heads Student Facilitation
& Analysis at GREedge.com. GREedge.com will conduct the event and also sponsor the
prizes.


What to do to win a Laptop:



Participants of EDGEucation Next will have to create a poster bringing out their
imagination, concept, and design for a futuristic version of personalized education.
The theme can be one of the following - Books of the Future, Classrooms of the
Future or Handheld Learning Devices for the College Student. Qualified posters will
be displayed at the IIT-Madras Campus during the Shaastra-2008 festival Oct 1-5.



All participants will receive a problem statement and poster design kit at the IIT
Madras Campus or on the GREedge.com website from Oct 1, 2008. The overall winner
with the best design will receive a laptop as the prize.


Shaastra 2008 is expected to attract 15000 students from across the country. These
students will be participating in many Engineering and Scientific workshops,
contests, events and lectures through the five day festival at the IIT-Madras campus
in Chennai.
